Yesterday status got updated for me and my wife as below:
Current Status: Approval notice sent.
On August 8, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.
Hope I will receive GC soon. Haven't got CPO mails/status yet.

If I am lucky enough I can make upto 70-80years of my age maximum, considering my age now, I might live another 30-35yrs. Just imagine what life we want, I completely agree what points you mentioned below. But you are forgetting the insidents we read in news media every day. I almost find atleast one incident where people are killed just for money........what if our fate is not good, and we encounter such situation???
So there is are many factors that effect our life on both sides of the globe !

Is suing the only option? USCIS could be making unintended mistake. We want to get clarification in a smoother and faster process before the flood gates open in October.
There should be some other legal-process to get written clarifications/interpretation etc on the law (like some kind of AILA discussion with CIS).
But my friend, CIS has a very very thick skin... So the only language they understand is suit.

you've taken one sliver of info out of that case and making it seem like thats a primary issue... i dont doubt that what you are purporting is true... but your link pointed to something that was a complete waste of time... i agree that you need to have a permanent full time job and that permanent means indefinite in most cases related to immigration.

My papers were received at Nebraska Center by one... M. Schwitzer on 30th July. So far nothing... no receipts, no encashed checks.
Latest frontlog update shows they have reached 29th July. It is a farce. In my office, I know of at least 5 guys whose papers were received in Nebraska Center between 17th to 20th July. Their checks are not even encashed till today.
They just put in wrong and fake info just to please their bosses. This is a messy setup.
Perhaps it is time for us to wake up one day and head to our "real and true" homes! May be we will eat Dal Roti only but we would be proud of ourselves and not remain at the mercy of these insensitive folks at INS. I am sure most of them are guys like you and me, but the system sucks and deep inside our hearts we off-load our anger and frustation at them....

Been in the US since 1998, have an EB-2 PD of 2001, have played by the rules all along. Still no GC... And, the dates are going back to 2000 from the new year.. I've lost hopes...
A: I suggest you to have a trip in India and visit some places like Dharavi,
Mumbai. If you do not want to go to India, Just take a trip to Brooklyn, NY
You will see lots of souls in a such condition, you will start feeling better.
I would not say this is nice way to feel good but that is the qucikest thing
I can think of. What I mean to say is do not feel hopeless as you are in a
way better condition than millions. And those millions have not lost hope
and faith. Yes, you do not have GC so I also do not have GC. I do not
have assets like what Bill Gates or Anil Ambani has. So now I get a good
reason to depress and feel hopeless. Should I start feeling depressed?
I'm pretty close to getting clinical depression because of this game played by USCIS, Labor Dept, FBI and my own bad luck.
SKILL bill, OMNIBUS, etc. comes and goes. IV does seem to be doing things to lobby for the community, but let's face one reality. Like a news article said, no one in congress or senate wants to touch immigration even with a long pole until 2009.

against all odds. Have confidence and faith in yourself. Stand up to
challenge the problems and entities who impose the problem on you.
The US has been very good to me (other than the GC part), more than my home country (India) which is why I'm still here.

But as suggested by IV members, please do consider a visit to india and take second opinion from the Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, its one of the best cancer treament centre in the world.
US Healthcare system is for Profit, some medical facilities in US are exception, but if you see the overall Healthcare system it sucks and its all driven by insurance and big Pharmaceutical companies.

I was looking at the comments of one "sodepressed" in the Ron gothcer's forum..I am feeling really bad for this guy..I dont know what logic USCIS follows..but I assure you EB-3 I will fight for fair share and get it..with in 140 K numbers or thro Visa recapture #'s..first is to highlight our problems..so lets do it in creative ways...

Where the hell all these guys when EB3 is getting 80K to 100K of total 140K visas all these years and EB2 is getting just merely 10%-15%. Nobody from EB2 didn't felt jealous like this before. It is hard to digest for them now.

Yeah tell me about it! It is not enough that Eb3 gets screwed left right AND center. Now we have people applying pressures from the top and bottom as well, and to top it off, Eb2 people who:
1) Get ALL the spill overs from Eb1 and
2) Have fewer people drinking from their pool (As opposed to every tom dick & harry taking their share from the Eb3 pool, nurses to name a few).
