Hi All, we got our physical cards yesterday my USPS.
PD: Feb 16th, 2006, NSC, EB2-I, RD: Aug 6th 2007
Got Welcome notice by USPS o Aug 16th (approved on August 10th), online status changed to PDA on August 19th, got physical cards yesterday.

FP - Got a mail from USCIS regarding finger printing (scheduled - August 29,2007)
So far no receipt by mail, application is at Nebraska.

she can say whatever. the courts have to agree.
if she says that constitutional protections don't apply to non-citizens, they are essentially reinstating slavery.
not that the constitution was against slavery.
H1B is a non immigrant visa, and we dont have the full constitutional rights, for eq we dont have the right to vote.
Legally we are not immigrants, that is the worst mistake( calling ourselves immigrants) ,being done by us,

I have only seen just one or two cases so far with receipts I mean filed on Jul 2. I myself am a Jul 2 filer NSC filer with TSC approved 140 and haven't gotten anything yet....I also had the LUd on 7/28/07.
I have counted my self from diff forums and seen around 10+ cases who got their RN's.

My PD is Sep 2002. There are different limits:

Fatigue limit
Endurance limit
I am on last one :)

My wife and i got emails from USCIS and we checked our status online and it is now CPO. The approval is based on my wife's applicatiion ( EB2 India, Dec 2005). I had two applications one as her dependent and another my own that is EB3 I, Jan 2004.

No problem...I think fax can be a strong messages since it is a hard copy and it has greater chances to get read quicker than e-mails.. Please take some time and fax them. Fax takes a minute to send if the line is not busy. Keep trying and fax them.

That is exactly my point. I mean even if the H1B quota DOES increase, is it more harm or good?
The new H1Bs will go at the back of the line, but atleast a lot of the people here like spouses on h4 might get a fighting chance to get new H1s? Somehow I dont see how an increase in the H1 quota can negatively affect us EB folk. Now dont get me wrong that is NOT all I want and nothing would please me more if the EB quota was increased as well. All I am saying is, let us not totally oppose the H1B increases just because most of us on here already have one. Half of the spouses on here can start working the minute the H1B quota is increased. Moreover stuedents already here can start working and dont have to be at the mercy of the H1b quota to graduate etc.
Let me tell you how it can affect you. In an ideal system it will not affect you, but in this one you can't say.
There are folks here who arrived 11 yrs ago who do not have a green card yet. On the other hand there are those that came in 2002 who are sailing pretty. The fact that this is happening and that FIFO is a fallacy, that is proof that it will hurt us.
Here are a few reasons.
1)More H1bs coming from non retrogressed countries will keep siphoning off the visa numbers and limit spillover which we desperately need absent legislation to get out of this hole.
2)As long as the crazy practice of Labour Subs continues, there will always be those youngsters who arrive, grab/buy/are peddled a Labour Sub. cut to the front of the line and move on, while you and I sit sobbing at our fates.
3)As H1bs coming here and not getting green cards becomes entrenched in the minds of employers, they will see you as such and be reluctant to sponsor you for a green card. H1b changes into a vehicle for short term workers much like the J1 visa for resident physicians.
4)L visas are frequently converted to H1bs as a precursor to green card petitioning.

The problem will come, if you have an RFE for employment. If you get a letter from client, they will say that the company has employed, say for example Mr John as a Programmer Analyst for a period of 1 year. This will open up one major issue, that is you do not work for a company. The H1 and 485 is an application that is sponsored by a company, there is no clause for self sponsor. So when they see u are self sponsored, they could reject your 485.

Great news: IV core is supporting the flower campaign - see this thread (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6191). :)
We have until tonight to place in the orders so that the flowers can be delivered on Tuesday.
Everyone who kept the faith - thanks and lets continue sending emails or calling people to let them know about it.

Well said!. It is simply a sign of immaturity that some people will just complain but are not willing to do the work , not willing to understand the issue and not willing to understaing the constraints.
If any changes need to be made it upto the individuals to take the intiatives.
DO NOT post such baseless allegations.
IV core is very much aware of the problems as we ourselves face them, and working within our limited means and time. If you are interested, join us and give your helping hand.

Well ...if some of our members were not cheap enough, I wouldn't mind asking each of them to send individual flowers through FTD for $30.00. Given the situation where we have to badger each of our members to squeeze out $20.00 for IV contributions - cheap sense makes sense!
I've seen people spend $20 on Sivaji - The BOSS - than on spending money for some worhtwhile cause.

Guys, when you write to senators/WH/ other officials, Its important to include the reasons for this huge backlog. 1) Wasted visa numbers due to CIS inefficiencies for past decade.
2) Country quota... I believe the visa waste is more of a problem on their side. Also when you highlight a problem, do not just end with problem, quantify with quoting the visa bulletin's memos and other statistics from ombudsman's report.
Important, include a suggested approach to resolution as well.. which is "Recapture the wasted visa numbers and elimination / fixing the dispropotionate of country quota". This will atleast set the precendence to thought process on the fix.
abrupt and emotional emails would not cut it in this protectionist environment created due to job loss and economy. Just a humble suggestion. We have to be a part of solution to housing problem as well.
