The lawyer of simple1 is not correct. INA specifically has the language for counting all immigrants (including spouses and children) towards numerical limits, and, we have been working to include provisions to eliminate counting depents towards numerical limits. Doing such extra effort as mentioned in the first post of the thread is not going to be helpful. When there is a bill we should be pushing towards not counting dependents and it is more straightforward. That will take care of the backlog issues to some extent. Admin fixes do not change laws, so admin fix for this is not possible as some suggested

We have until tonight to place in the orders so that the flowers can be delivered on Tuesday.
Everyone who kept the faith - thanks and lets continue sending emails or calling people to let them know about it.

I think what has happened here is that DOS was frustrated with the pace in which USCIS was processing applications. So in order to push them to work faster, they made all categories current. This strategy worked and USCIS approved 60,000 visa in 15 0r 20 or however many days.
Then USCIS communicated with DOS that annual quota has been exhausted and thus DOS published the revised bulletin.

It means they have used 90K Visa out of 140-150K ..it means 50K visa left for next 5 month..not sure how much visa dates wlll be moved.
EB2 went to U and then because of EB1 they are available. so it could be all EB3 numbers left. In that case we can see considerable movement in EB3. If EB3 ROW becomes current or close to current next visa bulliten there might be some movement for India and china in coming months or atleast IN FY 2009.

IV is not biased against any EB category. Their goal is to have process so that everyone gets GC in one year from date of application. These categories are set by USCIS. IV is currently in process of detailing solutions to end this misery of all EB category. More details can only be find in your respective state chapters. We cannot disclose details on the public forum. I will urge you to join your state chapter so that you are aware of what all IV is trying to do. IV is not trying to make system work for EB2 or EB1 but for everyone. There are lot of solutions, but we need to lobby and for that we need volunteer. Remember IV is not a corporate who has people working on its payroll and getting revenue. All of us need to contribute and volunteer. Trust me the day all of us (at least number of people blogging currently) join their state chapter and volunteer couple of hours in a month, you will not need lobby. The public voice be enough to convince Hill and House to pass a legislation.

Hey I did 1 year of a PhD paying OUT OF STATE TUTION before I got a waiver with a research group in school. Majority of international students do not get assistantships to go to school. SO THEY PAY TUITION and TAXES after they start to work just like you Mr. GCsucks. You’re taxes go to the war effort and not to fund university research unlike tuition paid by international students. Simple thing, I don't comment all the bull that goes on , on the open forum, discussing Vonage to anything, who cares. Put up the opinions no problem. But there has to be a limit on how and what are you putting up.
Despite IV doing so much for the community, the post from gvenkat, jyoti and including yours and lot others (guys you know whom I am talking about) actually demotivate the group and this way you contribute to IV but all NEGATI VE When I see this type shit I just cannot stop myself and I think would be a shame on myself if I do so.
Also , one time donation are not helping. IV needs more donations, more volunteers. Come on join in, everything is flexible here for volunteers, so please contribute and donate.IV core has got it to this point with least support and proved that yes it can be done now what else do you what IV to prove. After this still you are looking for something for them to prove. then its nothing to prove all BS excuses for not being the part of it.

So, just like the OP, I am a thankless member who thinks the group is thankless. So, I do not know what initiatives IV has taken, but yet, I linger around the forums because it has so many smart people throwing around ideas, working on theories and just being friendly.
Maybe you should just create a little forum of yours in one corner and put walls around so no one can come in and make suggestions about things you won't tell them about. Does it take that much effort to be nice to someone? Just remember that he is free to tell you what to do irrespective of who he is. What you actually do is upto you. Just be nice for a change, it will make you get a whole new perspective on life!

FYI sent wife's application on August 11th .. reached NSC on 14th .. checks got chshed yesterday. Online status says application was picked on Sep 25th.
My application was sent on 2nd July reached July 3rd and have received recepit noice earlier.
